Microplastic Status

Materials include Tritan Renew copolyester, polypropylene lid. Consider switching to a verified microplastic-free alternative in this category.

How we assess products

About This Product

The Nalgene Sustain uses Tritan Renew, made with 50% certified recycled content. Tritan is BPA-free and more chemically stable than polycarbonate, but it remains a plastic polymer and it forms the entire liquid-contact surface of the bottle. Long-term shedding data for Tritan under repeated use, hot washing and abrasion is limited, so the amount released is unclear. For a drinking surface with no plastic in contact with the water, consider stainless steel or glass.

Materials

  • Tritan Renew copolyester
  • polypropylene lid
