Based on available material data, the Mushie bib is a single piece of cured food-grade silicone, so silicone is the entire food- and skin-contact surface. Cured silicone is a crosslinked elastomer rather than a thermoplastic and does not shed microplastic fragments the way conventional plastics do in normal use. It can release siloxanes, but those are a separate question from microplastics. Silicone degrades under high heat and long-term wear, so replace a sticky or cracked bib.
