Babycup Sippeco Mini Open Cups (formerly First Cups) are designed for baby-led weaning. Babycup states the cups are made from polypropylene, BPA-free and phthalate-free, and made in Britain; the brand does not claim Tritan. Either way the drinking surface is plastic held in direct mouth contact, and polypropylene is a recognised source of microplastic shedding, particularly after dishwasher and steriliser cycles. The open-cup design still avoids the spouted sippy cup, which is a separate benefit for oral development. For a plastic-free drinking surface, consider a glass or stainless steel beaker.
